National Marathon Champs: Hoey & Callaghan finish sub 2.30
National Marathon Championships 2013
Well done to all Star of the Sea athletes who competed in the 2013 National Marathon Championship in Dublin last weekend. Mark Hoey finished his first Marathon in a time of 2.28.47 and was the first Meath man across the finish line. Mark kept his pace steady, averaging 5.41min splits throughout, taking 10th place in the senior national championships. Eoin Callaghan then followed Hoey across the line. With an aim of breaking the elusive 2hr 30min mark, Eoin kept digging in and finished in a time of: 2.29.30, giving him 11th place in the national championships and a new marathon personal best. Alan Caul finished 3rd SOS across the line in 3.08.51, competing in the Masters over 40 category. Susan Vickers was our first lady across the line, taking 20th place in the national masters over 35 championship in a time of 3.32.29.
